Objectives
The ACC is a not for profit organization, 501(c)3 status pending, whose purpose is to use all mediums available, i.e. Theater, Film, Television, Music, Dance, Art and the Internet, in order to promote the wealth and depth of African culture.
The ACC is dedicated to presenting both existing and original works that portray different aspects of African culture and identity.
The ACC will solicit and present works by African playwrights, songwriters, artists, etc., in order to show the diversity of African creativity.
The ACC will encourage and facilitate cultural events and programs that transcend Africa, through open forums and activities inclusive of other cultures.
The ACC will present events in multiple languages, including poetry, literature, music and theater, in order to preserve an aspect of the African culture.
The ACC will promote musical events in order to show the beauty and variety of African languages and musical styles.
The ACC in conjunction with the African embassies and consulates will present events of African culture, in order to promote an understanding between our societies.
The ACC will find ways to promote the continuity of African culture into the 21st century by encouraging new creativity in all mediums, through the use of Festivals, Commissions and Competitions, and by making our programming and exhibitions available around the world.
The ACC will also facilitate the acquisition of African artifacts and other items that represent the African culture.
